Abby: 12/31/98-7/11/11

On Monday I had to make that incredibly hard decision to let my dog go. I had her for half my life! She was an Alaskan Malamute who lived to be over 12 1/2 years old. Abby wasn't just a pet, but a best friend and a part of the family. She was a complete sweetheart, and anyone who met her immediately fell in love with her. As a puppy, she loved to run, play, wrestle and she was scared of garbage cans! In her youth, if you will, she loved to go on walks, usually she was the one walking the person...she was so strong!...also she loved to chase rabbits and squirrels, on the rare occasion actually catching one...eek! In her older years she still loved going on walks, but they slowed down quite a bit. She also loved to just be around people. She's always loved people, but especially in her last year she constantly wanted to be around them. She always loved her other "siblings" too, and stray animals. One day we caught her cuddling with a stray cat.

While I don't have many pictures from when she was younger, I have tons and tons from the last 3 or so years. Here are just a few of them. I will be getting some puppy/younger year pictures from my mom and probably post them later. Most of these pictures are from the last 2 years, but a few from other times too. If you have lost a pet, think of them and the happy times you had with them as you look at these memories of Abby.
